Meet the Team

Welcome to our school - meet our wonderful team. As OFSTED described in October 2022, "There is a strong family feel and a real sense of belonging", which starts with our staff:

Our Structure

Our school is organised into four classes. The first, Class 1, is a small base of just 15 Year R children. We think this gives the children a fabulous start to their schooling and sets them up for the rest of their journey. These children then move up into Class 2 as Year 1 where they join with Year 2. The next class, Class 3, contains Years 3 and 4 and then Class 4 is for Years 5 and 6.

The Class 1 Team (Year R)

Mrs Mason is the class teacher for Class 1 and she always has lots of exciting ideas for learning. Miss Knight is the class teaching assistant whilst Miss Fradley is on maternity leave, helping everyone do their best.

The Class 2 Team (Years 1 & 2)

Class 2 children benefit from two teachers. Whilst both Mrs Sothcott and Mrs Pilgrim are on maternity leave we will have Mrs Harmer and Mrs Goodall teaching the children. Mrs White is the teaching assistant all week and cares for everyone.

The Class 3 Team (Years 3 & 4)

The acting Deputy Head Teacher Mrs Bird also teaches Class 3 children and loves all things mathematical and scientific. Mrs Mildren supports the class for most of the week.

Mrs Hayward can also be found supporting Class 3 children for part of the day and will often work with individuals on specific learning.

The Class 4 Team (Years 5 & 6)

Mrs Reed teaches Class 4. Miss Walkinshaw supports everyone in the class as her assistant most of the week.

Mrs Miller is the school's Higher Level Teaching Assistant and she often works with groups around the school and regularly covers classes across the school. She also helps Mr Woolley welcome the children on the main gate in the morning.

Ms Lovell can either be found supporting classes 3 & 4 when needed or supporting children throughout the school as she is also the school's ELSA.

The Office Team

Our friendly office staff are the people most likely to help with any visitor or parent request. Mrs Baber is our Admin Assistant and the likely first port of call from 9:30am until 1:30pm, Mrs Bettridge is our Admin Officer and manages the administrative work of the school. She will respond to any questions about dinner money, contact details, admissions and many other areas.

The Rest of The Team

Mr Buckley is our caretaker and he also ensures our school is clean and safe for us. We have a small team of lunchtime assistants - Mrs Hayward, Mrs Mildren, Miss Walkinshaw and Ms Lovell who help the children eat their lunch and play happily.

Our Headteacher

Mr Woolley is our headteacher. He is responsible for the running of the school and the safety and development of the children. He is our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) and also Designated Teacher (DT) for those children in Local Authority Care. He regularly covers classes across the school and welcomes the children into school at the main gate every morning. He enjoys sport, especially rugby, plays the guitar (badly) and is never happier than exploring minibeasts with the children in the pond or helping to identify an amazing animal discovery at playtime!

Come and meet the staff at our school.
