What a wild week of weather! On Tuesday, we had the whole day inside, as wet plays. This happens surprisingly rarely – even on rainy days we generally seem to get outside at some point. Though children don’t burn off energy running about, they do enjoy the novelty of games, activities, Lego, drawing etc in their class. Class 1 children spend wet plays in with Class 2 so that they can share their toys and interact with these older children in play. This also subtly starts the transition process for when they move into Year 1 – it helps to make them feel comfortable and familiar with the classroom space, toilets and get to know the Year 1 children they will eventually ‘join-up’ with.
