Autumn viruses

Illness seems to have dominated this week with lots of children coming down with bugs, colds and viruses. It’s the same every Autumn that when the weather turns the usual viruses come out. It’s all part of school and of course also how children’s immune systems develop following exposure. It is significant though because we all feel less emotionally resilient or able to emotionally regulate when we are ill and of course tiredness is also a factor – this often hits in penultimate weeks of term. Next week is our last week and only four days so should help everyone to keep going! Remember children should still be in school even if they are not quite right, just as you would go to work with a cold, though clearly if they need bed rest or have vomited/diarrhoea they must remain home for 48 hours (please contact the office for each absence day).
