To say it has been an unusual week is a bit of an understatement. The weather has been remarkably hot – the overnight heat has been particularly challenging. The decision to cancel sports day was entirely the right call! I look forward to more usual temperatures and a return to normality on Monday.

OFSTED visiting this week was particularly challenging but all happened as it should. It’s coming up to 4 years since our last visit so we were ‘due’. The framework has now changed so our last visit was a light-touch one-day visit, this was a full inspection with a team for two days. I am not allowed to share any of the findings yet as this has to go through OFSTED internal quality assurance processes. This takes 30 school days so the publication of the report will unfortunately not be until probably September. That seems a lifetime away but nothing we can do about it. Suffice to say we are pleased it is done. My thanks to so many of you who completed the parent view questionnaire and to so many of you who shared such supportive, encouraging messages with us!
