Meet the Team

Welcome to our school - meet our wonderful team. As OFSTED described in October 2022, "There is a strong family feel and a real sense of belonging", which starts with our staff:

Our Structure

Our school is organised into four classes. The first, Dormice, is a small base of just 15 Year R children. We think this gives the children a fabulous start to their schooling and sets them up for the rest of their journey. These children then move up into Squirrels as Year 1 where they join with Year 2. The next class, Hedgehogs, contains Years 3 and 4 and then Badgers is for Years 5 and 6.

The Dormice Team (Year R)

Mrs Mason is the class teacher for Dormice and she always has lots of exciting ideas for learning. Miss Knight is the class teaching assistant helping everyone do their best.

The Squirrels Team (Years 1 & 2)

Squirrels children benefit from two teachers. Mrs Pilgrim (Mon-Tues) and Mrs Ford (Wed-Fri) with Miss Fradley (Mon-Thurs) and Mrs Mildren (Tues-Thurs am, all day Fri) as the teaching assistants taking care of everyone.

The Hedgehogs Team (Years 3 & 4)

In Hedgehogs there is Mrs Bird who loves all things mathematical and scientific. Mrs Lee supports the class in the mornings for the week and Mrs Mildren in the afternoons (Tues-Thurs).

The Badgers Team (Years 5 & 6)

The Deputy Headteacher, Miss Leech teaches Badgers with Mrs White in the class as her assistant all week. Mrs Hayward also supports the class in the morning (Mon-Fri).

Mrs Miller is the school's Higher Level Teaching Assistant and she often works with groups around the school and regularly covers classes across the school. She also helps Mr Woolley welcome the children on the main gate in the morning.

The Office Team

Our friendly office staff are the people most likely to help with any visitor or parent request. Mrs Baber is our Admin Assistant and the likely first port of call from 9:30am until 1:30pm, Mrs Bettridge is our Admin Officer and manages the administrative work of the school. She will respond to any questions about dinner money, contact details, admissions and many other areas.

The Rest of The Team

Mr Buckley is our caretaker and he also ensures our school is clean and safe for us. We have a small team of lunchtime assistants - Mrs Hayward, Mrs Mildren, Mrs White and Mrs Lee who help the children eat their lunch and play happily.

Our Headteacher

Mr Woolley is our headteacher. He is responsible for the running of the school and the safety and development of the children. He is our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) and also Designated Teacher (DT) for those children in Local Authority Care. He regularly covers classes across the school and welcomes the children into school at the main gate every morning. He enjoys sport, especially rugby, plays the guitar (badly) and is never happier than exploring minibeasts with the children in the pond or helping to identify an amazing animal discovery at playtime!

Come and meet the staff at our school.
