Half term

Good morning everyone

I hope you had a lovely long sunny bank holiday weekend with your families.

This will be a quick message and the only one I will write this week as I think we all need a break from the computer! As I said on Friday, there will be some more of the children in our school returning next Monday so all the teachers are going in to school this week to get ready. It will be very different to how school is normally, especially as not all the children, including most of you, will not be coming back yet.

Over the weekend, we travelled down to Portsmouth each day to our boat. The weather was very windy especially on Saturday so we would not have been safe to go out of the harbour. It was a good chance to do some more jobs that we haven't been able to do for the last two months. I gave the whole of the outside of the boat a really thorough clean. I was very pleased when I had finished as it looked lovely and shiny! Mr Bird did lots of little fixing jobs and I was his assistant when he serviced the engines.  We also took up some of the old carpet inside ready to replace when the shops reopen.

Yesterday was a lovely calm day so we were able to go out on the boat. We had a lovely trip across the Solent to a bay on the Isle of Wight where we anchored. There were lots of boats out and about enjoying the perfect weather. There were a few people swimming in the sea but I was not brave enough to get in as the water is still quite cold even though it was a really warm day!

I have put a few website links below with some activities you could try if you fancy it.

I hope you have lots of time to relax and feel refreshed ready to return to your home learning next week.

Love from Mrs Bird xx
