Good morning everybody.
I've just looked at the weather forecast - sunny and a gentle breeze - perfect. I hope everyone has been enjoying the half term. We made it to Southsea yesterday for 7 o'clock in the morning and went for a lovely 2 hour cycle. I didn't know that Southsea had so many cycle routes and cycle lanes - most of the ride was either on a specially made cycle path or a specially marked lane and it was FLAT the ENTIRE way. At the moment, much of the promenade is closed to cars on the sea front and so you can ride on the road there without any cars using the road - all the way from the funfair near the hover craft, right up and past Canoe Lake. There was a smattering of people sitting on the beach when we got back there at 9ish and even a few brave swimmers and paddle boarders too. It was really lovely just looking at the sea which was completely flat - no waves. I also saw the lido at Hilsea for the first time which had some really nice wide and smooth special bike paths very close to it that followed the water's edge. I've put a link to a a bike map if there are any keen family cyclists amongst you - it was great at that time in the morning. Below are a few more watery ideas to have a go at in the garden.
I'm off to school today to meet the other teachers and to get the classroom organised. Have a lovely day everyone.
