Friday 17th July 2020

Good morning everyone,

What a lovely morning to start our final day of school on.

So this will be my last message to you as Class 1 members.  I have enjoyed our time together, even though it got cut very short back in March, but thank you to all those who have continued to share what they have been doing at home with me regularly.  Make sure you all have a well earned break over the next few weeks and find lots of fun things to do.  Keep the reading up at home using Bug Club - see what you can spend all the gold coin points on in the games section - and then you will be in a good position to start Year 1 in September.  Have a lovely summer everyone - you've been a great little class to teach and I shall miss you very much.

Letters and Sounds

Practise your letter sounds by singing along with the Jolly Phonics songs.

Play fishy Phonics on Phonics Bloom and see if you can catch the picture that matches the word.  Use the set 5 words in the Phase 2 selection.
Play Space Race on Phonics Play to practise sounding out words and choosing the correct letters.  Choose the phase you need to practise - phase 2 is generally 3 lettered words, Phase 3 has the digraphs and phase 4 will have the blends too.
Mrs Dawson hasn't been in school since lockdown and has been shielding at home due to her asthma.  On Monday, she is coming back to meet the new children.  If you would like to send her a short message, I will make sure she gets it.  We will be making a big card with messages in at school so I can easily add it in.
Now have a go at the How many Legs Day 5 activities.  Can you work out which creatures would give the amount of legs asked for?

Number Time

Have a go at the Day 5 How Many Legs? activities.  See if you can choose the right animals to match the set amount of legs - good luck!

PE

Sports Dave has put his final video up on the Sport and Keeping Active Home Learning tab and today is all about preparing for your own sports day.  Take a look and see if you can practise and compete with any of your family members.

Lego Challenge

The final lego challenge of the term is make a marble maze - why not give it a go, I think you could have a lot of fun playing with it.

So that's it everyone, have a lovely summer break, keep happy and come and say hello when you come back in September - I shall be looking forward to seeing you all again.
