Good morning Class 3,
Welcome back to home learning ! I hope you had a really lovely week with your families whether you were able to go out to a few different places or enjoyed the gorgeous sunny weather in your garden.
I went for some more day trips to different places in our boat including Chichester harbour. The beach there is huge so it wasn't busy at all where we were. I am pleased to report that I now have been swimming in the sea twice!! It was quite cold to get in but lovely once I was in!! Yesterday we were in Portsmouth harbour and went past one of the new aircraft carriers, there is a photo below. We also saw an egret very close up which is quite unusual. It is a bird in the same family as the heron.
One evening I went for a really nice long walk with Mrs Steele. It was so nice to chat with her.
The teachers all went into school one day to move things around and prepare for more children coming back in. We all did the Joe Wicks workout together at the start of the day which gave us some giggles!!
Our topic this half term should be Upham Explorers which is a little bit difficult as you are not all in Upham! In this topic, we usually learn about the geography of the local area and explore habitats in science. We will still be learning about habitats and focusing on geography skills but I am going to call the topic Explorers instead!
This week, in English you will be finding out about some different journeys that children take to school around the world. Our topic work today will be to start learning some map skills which I hope you enjoy.
I hope you feel refreshed and ready to learn Class 3!
Have a good day,
Love from Mrs Bird xx
