The children have continued to join in with the celebrations of Christmas. Last week, they had some time with their buddies on Christmas Jumper Day where they played games together and shared stories.
The children also had a lovely Christmas party day where they made biscuits and sandwiches to eat at the party, made party hats to wear with their Christmas dinner and joined in with party games in the afternoon. The children coped well with the party, starting off cautiously, but soon warming up as the party continued. All children graciously left a game when they were out and watched each game until we had a winner who selected a prize from the tray of treasure!
It's starting to feel Christmassy at school now as the children have been making paper chains and other Christmas decorations this week.
The children did so well this week performing their Christmas play first to the school and then to their families. They should all feel very proud of themselves.

We started the week off with a light dusting of snow so we put on our wellies and went out to explore. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough snow to make a snowman, but the children did make footprints and could use their senses to explore. The overwhelming opinion was that it was very cold so it was just a short snowy play investigation!
We have also been finding out about how we can eat healthily and why it is important to keep our bodies, hair and teeth clean. As part of our healthy eating activities, we found out that there were different groups of food and that we should eat lots, some or a little of the different groups. We also tried eating different pieces of fruit and vegetables and decided if we liked them or not. Everybody tried everything and most of the children discovered that they liked many of the foods that they tried.
