Phonics

Year 1

On Wednesday we revised the /ur/ sound so today I would like you to practise this sound. Have a look through the quick read ur PowerPoint. Then you can do the ur phoneme spotter story and the colouring real or nonsense word sheet.

Year 2

Yesterday you started to learn about adverbs and how they have the suffix ly. Have another look at the PowerPoint and have a go at the two sheets below.

Spelling Sentence

Have a go at the spelling sentence you have been practising and if you'd like me to mark it you can email it to me and if you get them all right I will email you a golden coin!

Maths

The first thing you might like to do is do a 2D shape hunt round your house. You might like to take some pictures and then label them with the shape names. You could even write about the properties of the shape. How many sides does the shape have? How many vertices does the shape have?

You were all sent a letter about Times Tables Rockstars with your login details. If you can't find this letter, your child should have a sticker in the back of their reading record. See if you can login and have a go! Enjoy!

You can also go into your App Store on your phone or tablet and type White Rose Maths into the search bar and you’ll find 1-minute maths at the top of the search and there’s some lovely games on there that you might like to play!

PE

Have a go at this Joe Wicks workout as we're missing our PE lesson today. Can you make up your own exercise to add on at the end?

Reading

Find somewhere cosy and snuggle up with your favourite book or books and spend 15-20 minutes reading. Perhaps you might like to draw a picture of your favourite character in your book and label it with their name and a fact about them to email me.

Happy Half Term!

It's a shame not to see you all on the last day of term but it's so windy and wet it's best if we all stay safe indoors today. Have a really lovely half term holiday!

See you all soon!

Love Mrs Pilgrim, Mrs Sothcott, Miss Newton and Mrs Hayward x
