Tuesday 2nd March

Good Morning!

I hope you are having a good week so far. What have you been up to?  I am really enjoying the sunshine! I hope you have managed to get outside and enjoy it too. I hope you can join me this afternoon at 2pm for our story. I am going to read you another one of my favourites - Tabby McTat by Julia Donaldson. Have you read this one before? I look forward to seeing you all then! I hope you have a lovely morning :-)

Our new topic for this half term is 'It's a Small World". This topic will take us on an imaginary journey around the world, finding out about different countries and cultures. We will start our journey in Kenya, a country in Africa. Over the next couple of weeks we are going to read a story called Masai and I by Virginia Kroll. This book is about a girl called Linda who learns about the Maasai people at school. Click on the video to listen to me reading the first few pages of the story:

Over the next few weeks, we will be finding out more about the Maasai people and their culture. Today, I would like you to write some questions. Click below to see the text from the first few pages of the story. Read the text carefully. You might need an adult to help with this. Make a note of any new words or words that you do not understand.

Then, write down some questions. What would you like to find out more about? Year 1s, think of at least 3 questions. Year 2s, think of at least 5 questions. You could write your questions on any piece of paper you have at home.
