September 2020 Class 3 Mrs Bird - For current Year 2 and Year 3 children

Welcome to Class 3

Today is Transition morning so you should be here if you are going to be in Class 3 in September.

A big welcome to all the current Year 2 children who will be my new Year 3. And welcome back current Year 3 children who will be going into Year 4 next year!

Click on the link below to watch a video Mrs Lambert and I have made to say hello and tell you a little bit about your class next year.

Our first topic next term will be one of my favourites. It is called Blood, bones and body bits. We will be learning about different parts of our body and how to stay healthy. We find out about teeth and how to look after them and learn about food groups and the digestive system. We start by thinking about the skeleton and muscles and how we move.

For our transition morning activity, I would like you to make a Body booklet.

The templates are saved below. On one side, I would like you to do a collage picture of you! You can use any materials you have at home to add a colourful outfit and hair. You can colour in the face and arms and legs. On the opposite side, I would like you to draw what you think is inside your body. You don’t need to look anything up, just show your ideas!

There is a picture of one that someone has started to show you.

On the other side, or second sheet, I have ruled lines for you to write on. On here, please tell me a little about yourself. I know it is quite small so do your best. I have written a bit about me to give you some ideas. Perhaps you could write about your favourite lessons, or hobbies. You could also tell me something about your family too or maybe you have a pet.

When you have finished, please photograph your work and email it to me at class3@upham.sch.hants.uk

I hope you all have a good morning. I really look forward to hearing from you and seeing your body booklets which I will put up on display ready for when you return to school next term.

Love from Mrs Bird
