Happy Birthday Max and Dylan
Below is a video which explains how to log into and use Bug Club to read books with your child electronically. Please take advantage of this really great resource and enjoy reading most days with your child - five or so minutes is enough time for the majority of children in this early stage of their reading journey. Below the video is a link to a sheet with login details. If your child has a hyphenated surname, please just write the two names in the surname without the hyphen.
How to use Bug Club video
Please look below at the PDF which explains how your child can log onto Bug Club/Personal Active Learn.
It will talk you through step by step what you need to do.
Below is a sheet of all the letters we have been practising which are part of the curly caterpillar family letters. Have ago at practising all the letters on page 1 at different times during the day making sure you start at the top each time and start with the curly caterpillar c shape. Adult's, could you please put a dot on each letter so children know where to start each time. Then I would like you to write your name on the top of the sheet being careful to form any curly caterpillar family letters correctly.

Play caption 2 in Phase 2 on caption clips in ictgames.com which is "a cat in a hat". Can your child sound out the caption as each letter is displayed one at a time by pressing "next grapheme" on the bar and then restart the phrase and write it down one sound at a time with the computer making sure they leave a finger space as shown.
Next week is going to be the Big Garden Bird Watch where you watch and count how many birds come into your garden in an hour. We have joined in with the Big School Bird Watch in school for the last 3 years so this year you'll need to get ready for it at home. If you want to see birds in your garden, it's good if you have things that birds like to entice them in. Watch the video that Mrs Hayward has made which shows you how to make a bird feeder using pine cones and cups. We always have a lot of fun making the pine cone ones and usually end up really mucky. In fact there are quite a few empty pine cones hanging on our apple tree in the outside garden and these were originally bird feeders made for a bird watch. I hope you can make something like this over the next few days.
Finish off the day with a nice story read by Mrs Dawson. Here she is reading "Room on the Broom" by Julia Donaldson.
