Maths

Start the lesson by practising one of your times tables using your Numberlink board.

Year 3

For the next two weeks, you are going to revisit and consolidate your understanding of fractions. We have already done a topic on fractions so I hope you will get on well with these lessons. As we have covered some of this work already, I will sometimes suggest you watch 2 lesson videos and then select which worksheet you do.

The lessons will use the White Rose videos and resources which are excellent.

Can I find non-unitary fractions of amounts?

( I hope you can got onto the website as I think it might be overloaded. The link is correct but doesn't seem to connect some of the time. If you have a problem maybe do English first and try later on, or have a go at the worksheets which are already downloaded)

Watch the videos at https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-3/   Week 2 (Spring Term) Lessons 3 and 4

Choose which worksheet to do. I think  worksheet 2  would be the one to do for most of you. If you want more challenge do worksheet 3, if you find fractions of amounts tricky, do worksheet 1.

Year 4

You will be continuing with the work you started on decimals before the Easter break.

Can I represent hundreths on a place value grid?

Watch video at     ( I hope you can got onto the website as I think it might be overloaded. The link is correct but doesn't seem to connect some of the time. Keep persevering but if you have a problem, perhaps try English first and try later on, or have a go at the worksheets which are already downloaded).

(Select  Lesson 4 Week 2 Spring Term)

Do worksheet below. Remember just do as far as you can on the sheet! The answers are saved so you can mark your work and do any corrections:

There is also an extra question at the bottom called 2 place decimals you could try for an extra challenge.

English

Start the lesson recapping the spelling rules for adding prefixes im, il, in, ir. Can you remember the rule we learnt? Look back at the work you did before the holidays.

Do Worksheet p30 Making opposites which is in your pack.

Spend some time either reading a book or perhaps do a little bit of research about Ancient Egypt online.

It's a lovely sunny afternoon - perhaps you could find a comfortable spot outside to read your book.
