Welcome To Our School

Welcome to our school website!

At Upham School, we think of ourselves as a family. It is the strength of how we work as a team of adults that translates to how we want the children to grow into this family as caring, self-confident and active learners. As children develop through our school, they learn to be considerate of each other, respectful and caring in all they do which is why visitors to the school always comment of the outstanding behaviour they notice.
We have many validations of the quality of our high provision, such as the rare Platinum School Sports Award and ‘Good’ ratings from both OFSTED and The Church of England. It is, however, the overwhelmingly positive feedback from our community, not least parents, about the things we do and what we provide that is most gratifying to hear.
Visitors to the school often describe the calm, friendly atmosphere and observe children working hard and enjoying their learning. If you would like to visit our school and see this for yourself, please contact the school office to arrange a visit.

David Woolley, Headteacher

Welcome to the Upham Primary School Website and thank you for taking the time to explore our school virtually.  As a school we believe that every child should have the opportunity to access high quality education in a safe and nurturing environment.
We think of ourselves as a family; staff, children, parents and governors all working towards the same goal of high achieving, socially, emotionally and spiritually aware children.  Our core values of love and care and strong links to the church are the cornerstone to our school family where everyone is treated with kindness and care.

We are proud that the children have the opportunity to access a rich curriculum and are immensely proud of all of their achievements; from academic success to sport, music and beyond.  We not only prioritise high academic standards but with wellbeing, positive mental health and resilience being at the heart of the learning. Our goal is to enable the children to become confident and independent individuals.

We hope that you enjoy discovering the joy, energy and the love of  learning that is generated  within the school.

Gemma Rainger, Chair of Governors
