Can I write an adventure story?

Get out the story plan you wrote yesterday about the robot who escaped. Read your ideas and think about how you are going to make your story exciting to read.

In today's lesson, I would like you to write the story opening and the build up.

Here are the things you need to focus on when writing your story:

Every sentence has a capital letter and full stop.

High frequency words you have been working on are spelt correctly and spelling rules for adding -ing and -ed are followed.

Write in the PAST tense. eg Suddenly the little, hard-working robot saw his chance to escape.

Use a variety of conjunctions to link sentences and clauses in your sentences. (Look back at the lesson from last Wednesday if you can't remember how to use conjunctions.)

Use some detail and language features to interest your reader for example adjectives, similes or repetition.
