Lunchtimes

Lunchtime is an important, social time in school. All of our children have lunch together in the hall. Classes 1 and 2 start their lunch at 12pm and have a head-start (because they are younger) before they are joined by Classes 3 and 4 at 12.15pm. Many have school lunches, cooked on-site by our caterers; Hampshire County Council Education Catering, whilst others have sandwiches. They are all mixed up together so they can enjoy social chat and interactions before going outside to play.

Table Manners and Role Models

We expect our children to use good table manners when eating. Our oldest children are great role models to our youngest ones - nothing helps a child learn better than another child! Our Year 6 children in particular will sit with their Year R buddies and role model using a knife and fork and eating politely. Of course our lunchtime staff are also there to help.

Cooked Lunch Choices

The menus for cooked lunches from Hampshire County Council Education Catering change seasonally through the year.  Current menus can be found below with a limited number of printed copies available in the school office.

Cooked Lunch & Jacket Potato Menus April 2024

In addition to this menu, Hampshire County Council Education Catering also offer jacket potatoes, with a choice of filling as selected by our school council after they have consulted the rest of the school. Please see the new Jacket Potato menu above commencing April 2024.

Paying for cooked school lunches

Once your child moves up to KS2 their lunches are no longer free and will cost £3.00 each day. The preferred method of payment for school lunches is online via Tucasi SCOpay.  Website - SCOPay/Upham Primary

Additionally, parents who already have a SCOPAY account are able to login to the SCOPAY app with their existing username and password. If you haven't already registered please contact the office on adminoffice@upham.hants.sch.uk and they will send you a code to enable you to register.

The account will enable you to make payments online for dinner money as well as trips and breakfast club. You can also check the history to see lunches your child(ren) selected.

There is no minimum transaction amount and there are no transaction charges. Alternatively, cheques or cash can be brought in to the school office.
