Can I write an informative text?

In the lesson today, you will need the notes you made yesterday about an aspect of Roman life. Read through your notes to start off. You might like to reread the fact page or websites you looked at to help remind you of all the information.

On Thursday we will have a live lesson on Google classroom, where I would like you to present some of what you have found out to the class. I will do two separate lessons, one for Year 3 and another for Year 4 and there will be an opportunity for everyone to share their work.

You now have another choice about how to present your information. You can either:

Make a short Powerpoint presentation

or

Write a fact page on Word

or

Write out your information in your writing book.

Success criteria

  • A title which explains what the information is about
  • An introduction which gives a short overview of the information on the page
  • The information is divided into paragraphs about each aspect of the topic.
  • Sub headings for each paragraph (If you are making a Powerpoint, each page is a new paragraph.)
  • It is about the past so write in the past tense eg The Romans enjoyed art and decorated their rooms with patterns and pictures.
  • Use technical vocabulary.
  • Use descriptive and factual language.
  • Include some pictures

You have 2 whole lessons to work on this ready for our lesson on Thursday. I look forward to seeing and hearing what you have found out.
