Good morning class 1 - click on the link to hear a morning message from Mrs Mason
Miss Newton would like me to let you know that your bread will take an hour to prove. You may like to start it by watching the first video she has made and then leave your dough to prove whilst you do something else.

PE 9:30 am - 10:30 am

Southampton Football club will be running this live sports lesson for us to join in with. You should have already received the link you need to join via Parentmail.

I hope you enjoy the lesson!

Letters and Sounds

Practise your sounds so far using the game "Grab a Giggling Grapheme" on the Phonics Play website.

Next click on the link below to learn the new digraph 'ng'.
Then have a game of Buried Treasure on the Phonics Play website and see if you can make the pirates dance.  It is up to you which set of words you choose for your child.  If they know the whole alphabet, try all the of the phase 2 option.  If there are some sets in Phase 2 they are not so good at, start with a set they are good at first and then move on to a set that is less familiar.  If your child has coped well with the new digraphs this week select phase 3 and choose ch, sh, th or ng.
Today we are going to practise writing the letter g.  Again this is another letter that starts off with the curly caterpillar c formation so let's write over that final line of c's that you have left on your tracing sheet and then write 3 more yourself in the 3 gaps between those c's you have just traced. Also try a line of a and a line of d on your previous sheets. So on your g sheet, start at the top of the g and 'go around the girl's face, down her hair and give her a curl'.  Do one line of g's and try some in the gaps - be careful with the direction that you write the curl. You will need to print off sheet number 20 from the 78 page document below.  Please put a dot at the starting point of each letter.

Number Time

Today we are going to be sharing toys between two children but one of the children puts their toys in a bucket.  Can you work out how many are in the bucket by using your five frame?  Click on the White Rose Maths Link below.  We are watching Alive in 5, Week 2, session 5.

See if you can join in singing the song of Alice the Camel.

Choose another number to practise writing using the dotty sheets.  When you have practised all the dotty numbers, try writing some in the space above the numbers on your own.

Have a go at today's sport challenge below.
Cooking with Miss Newton

Dear Class 1,

Wow what a fantastic job you did with your baking last week. The cakes were delicious weren't they. This week we are going to be making bread.

The ingredients you will need for your bread is:

500g Bread flour (white or wholemeal)

7g (1 sachet) Fast action yeast - if you are using fresh yeast you will need 14g and 1 tsp of sugar which you will need to mix together and leave for 10 minutes before using.

1tsp Salt

350ml lukewarm water

small amount of oil

I hope everyone who wants to join in didn't find it too difficult finding all the ingredients. I have done things a little differently this week and made a couple of videos for each stage.

Video 1 is a video of how to make the bread dough.

Video 2 is a 10 minute timer for kneading your bread.

Video 3 is a video on how to shape your bread and bake it.

I hope you have fun making it and I look forward to seeing what you have made.
