In multicultural week, the children have been learning about New Zealand and some of the stories and traditions of the Maori people. They tried the Maori greeting of a hungi where people shake hands and rub noses.
The children worked in pairs to play a traditional Maori stick game where the children had to tap sticks together in time to the music.
The children also had a go at the Maori tribal dance, the Haka.
We harvested our potatoes which we planted earlier in the year. From 3 seed potatoes, we grew over 30 potatoes, so more than 60 potatoes from both varieties. We then cooked some up later in the day which many of the children enjoyed.
