Can I use speech punctuation?

Look again at the legend of Romulus and Remus that you read in the lesson yesterday. Remind yourself of the highlighted speech you found.

Next print out the speech bubbles below which are both from different parts of the story. Think about what the boys might have been saying in each part of the story. Fill in the speech bubbles with the conversation they had.

Next you are going to look more carefully at using speech punctuation.

Watch the 2 video clips about inverted commas for speech. On the second website, there is a quiz to complete after the video. In the lesson tomorrow, you are going to write a section of the story from the speech bubbles you filled in and use inverted commas to punctuate this.
