Monday 6th April

Good morning Class 3. I hope you managed to go out in your garden or for a walk or cycle ride to enjoy the beautiful sunshine we have had this weekend.

It was Megan's 16th Birthday on Saturday, not at all how she planned it of course, like some of you who have already had birthdays recently. Instead of a party with all her friends, we had another Facetime dinner with our friends which was lovely. Megan's favourite meal is a roast dinner, so we had this on Saturday rather than Sunday. Another chocolate cake had to be made and eaten of course!

Yesterday, I travelled up to my Mum and Dad's again to deliver their shopping. This time, in contrast to the snow we saw last weekend, it was really warm! I again waved to my grandma through the window, but I think she is a little confused as to why I can't go in. In the afternoon, I had a lazy time enjoying the sunshine in the garden and started reading a new book. I ended my day with a cycle ride. I still can't get over how quiet all the roads are.

This week is the beginning of the Easter holidays so I am not going to put daily lessons on the website unlike the last two weeks, as it is a time to relax and I know how hard you have been working. However, I have already added a few suggested activities you might like to try. Mrs Lambert has also included a recipe. All these things are optional but there will be a mix of different activities. I will try to add something new each day so keep looking on our class page if you want some ideas.

From all the messages I have received from you, I know you have been very busy with lots of fun activities as well as your home learning. I have listed just a few of the things I've heard about. There were so many, I couldn't include everything but hopefully you might be inspired by some of these.

I know lots of you have been very creative; Antoine has told me about the den he has made with his brother and sister, Lewis had made a delicious looking banana loaf, Alice and Rosie have made beautiful horsehair bracelets and Connor made a battleship from a large carboard box. Ella painted a heart shape box, Steph and Caitlin have painted lovely rainbow posters and Rufus has made a dragon model. Austen and his sister did a treasure hunt in their garden.

Lots of you are busy planting things; I've heard about George M's vegetable growing and Louis digging and planting seeds.

Some of you are doing your own reasearch to make topic books, Maddox is learning about space and Louie about animals.

Others are writing stories, Kamma sent me a video recording of her reading the most amazing story she'd written set in the war. Bobby also sent me a fantastic story book she has written.

Some of you have been doing active hobbies; Lucy made a bike course in her garden, Grace has done yoga with her Mum, George L has played in his garden, Luca played football, Kiera has been on lots of bike rides, many of you have joined me doing the Joe Wickes morning workout (which is continuing this week.)

I have loved hearing that some of you are learning practical skills; Sam has learnt how to fix a puncture on his bike, Charlotte and Maia are learning to play the keyboard.

Have a good day,

Love from Mrs Bird x

Message from Mrs Lambert

Hi Class 3! 🤗
I had a lovely weekend bike riding with Mr Lambert 🚲, walking with Emma and Hope and our two Westies Lily and Max. I also did my usual Sunday morning run 🏃‍♀️. I also did quite a lot of gardening as the weather was so nice. 😎

🧩 Puzzle update - I have struggled with this one as the colours are quite similar 😟. But I persevered and have nearly finished.
I am at school tomorrow, so will message again on Wednesday.
Love from Mrs Lambert xx
