The colder weather led to frosts and ice forming around the grounds. The children have investigated freezing and melting by making ice sculptures and have joined in with winter hunts around the grounds to see what they could find.
As part of our learning about the season of winter, the children worked in small groups to build hibernation homes for animals.
Everything turned very piratey later in the month when we received Class 2's Titanic role play ship on completion of their topic. Class 1 thought it made a very good pirate boat and enjoyed dressing and acting as pirates, finding and hiding treasure using treasure maps, buying and selling things in the pirate shop and making lots of the props ourselves for our play and learning.
