The 'Woods'

The 'Woods' is an area at the bottom of the field where there are a number of silver birch and hazel trees. These trunks create a lovely space to run amongst and the canopy creates a shady, atmospheric place to play. This is particularly nice in the summer heat. There is a central space with some large tractor tyres to jump on. Many of our children enjoy making 'bugs lives' in this space which is where they create imaginary homes for bugs from sticks and leaves. This is quite an Upham tradition and I'm sure your child would soon be joining in too!
