Yesterday, children from Class 4 held their coffee morning for MacMillan Cancer Care. They served families the cakes and biscuits they had made on Tuesday as well as the amazing range of sweet treats kindly donated by so many families. Thanks to everyone who was able to attend and for the most generous donations – a total of £269.25 was raised for the work of this amazing charity. The children all explained to their families why they wanted to support this charity but I think Freddie summed it up perfectly: “MacMillan help people with cancer and help prevent it. In 2021, 4.2 million people came to them for help with cancer problems and 3 million people and rising have been diagnosed with cancer. So all the money you donate will go to help them.” Freddie, Year 6.
