  • Forest Schools - Class 1

    Thu 09 May 2019

Class 1 enjoyed their first ‘forest schools’ morning this week which was led by Tom Gregory, or Badger Tom to use his ‘forest name’. This is a new initiative for this year and the children really enjoyed their morning – see a note below from Tom explaining more. You will notice Class 1 children over the next few subsequent Thursdays arriving at school in non-uniform for these sessions.

We had a wonderful first Forest School session this week. We had a great time exploring, catching and identifying bugs and trying out some craft with sticks. Thank you for sending them in suitable clothes- as the weather warms up please stick with trousers or leggings as the grass on the meadow is very long. The children offered some marvellous ideas for activities to do next time so we have a fun few weeks ahead of us. Be sure to ask your child their ‘Forest School name’! Thanks for your support this week,
    Badger Tom

  • Residential Trip

    Thu 09 May 2019
The children returned ready for the new term, none more so than Class 4 who were away on their residential visit at Runways End. They had a great time, enjoying activities such as Abseiling, caving, canoeing and climbing. The emphasis was on challenging yourself – and for some children the main challenge was nothing to do with the activities but being away from home - everyone coped with this really well.
We couldn’t offer this valuable opportunity without staff willing to give up their time, away from their families to be with the children 24 hours a day. They do not receive any extra pay for this and I am sure you will join me in thanking Mrs Barrett and Mrs Soley for their support this week.
