  • Christmas learning & excitement

    Fri 17 Dec 2021

Life seems so different at the moment due to the continued effects of the pandemic but in many ways just the same as always too! This week has had the expected mist of excited (though exhausted) children enjoying parties, Christmas lunch, Christmas craft activities and Christmas cooking. And learning doesn’t stop

either, with some subjects deliberately blocked so that children can spend sustained time learning skills, such as Class 3’s Shadow Theatres which they made before performing to Class 1, or Class 4’s Viking Longships bringing Art and DT learning together.

I hope all of you have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy a relaxing, rejuvenating break in amongst all of the excitement. Keep safe & well everyone!

  • Christmas Performance donations

    Fri 10 Dec 2021

I hope all of you who were able to come into school yesterday, enjoyed the Christmas performances. All of the children were confident on-stage and enthusiastic in their singing. For our younger children it was lovely to see them performing to an audience, something that hasn’t been able to happen for a while. Thank you all so much for the generous donations at the end of the performances. The children have shown careful thought in their choices of charities based on things they are worried about. It’s not too late to send in a donation in a marked envelope, if you want to, but yesterday we raised:

Class 1 - £96 for ‘Action for Children’ which specifically supports vulnerable children in the UK

Class 2 - £114 for ‘Crisis’ who help families who are experiencing difficult circumstances

Class 3 - £114.50 for ‘Counter Point’ who support homeless people, especially young people

  • Christmas Performance tickets & permission

    Fri 03 Dec 2021

Many thanks to those of you who have sent back requests for tickets for the Christmas Performances, together with filming permission. One advantage of filming the performances of course is that the children will be able to watch themselves – this also helps them to improve their drama skills as they can see what did or didn’t work well. However, I need permissions from everyone to do this so please return the slip or email if you have not yet done so. Final confirmation details will be sent next week.
