  • Goodbye Year 6 - wishing everyone a great Summer

    Thu 21 Jul 2022

This week has been all about our Year 6 leavers. The children spent the beginning of the week planning their leaver’s service which was a thoughtful and reflective collection of memories and tributes to each other. They each spoke about one of the other children which was very moving. A few tears at the end, especially from parents, but a celebration nonetheless of their journey through our school and how they are ready to make the next step into a bigger world. Good luck to everyone, we will miss you all. Let us know how you are getting on! I would like to close the year with thanking every parent and family for their support this year in helping our school family to continue to flourish. Have a great summer and we look forward to seeing everyone again in September!

  • Multicultural week

    Mon 18 Jul 2022

The school year is nearing its end! Many of you might think that means the children won’t be doing very much now but this couldn’t be further from the truth. We have saved our multicultural week to the last week. Children will enjoy learning about the culture of a country through subjects such as art, cookery, history, stories, RE, crafts, geography and music but the pace of learning will feel rather different to a ‘normal’ week. Class 1 will be learning about the country and people of New Zealand, Class 2 China, Class 3 Thailand and Class 4 Pakistan. Should be an enjoyable ending to the school year!

  • A day in an Art Gallery

    Fri 08 Jul 2022

Class 2 had an amazing trip this week and so many parents have described how much their children enjoyed the day. They visited Southampton Art Gallery and spent the day with one of their education staff who showed them around particular paintings and sculptures. They produced their own art work in response, using a range of media. They were also very impressed to see the Lowry painting on display, having studied his work over the last few weeks.

  • From country to street

    Fri 01 Jul 2022

Dance has been in our thoughts this week. On Saturday girls and boys from Classes 3 and 4 performed a country dancing display at the Upham Fete, culminating in a perfect weave of the maypole. Well done to everyone who took part. Also on Sunday, children who attend the after school Monday club run by Integr8 Dance, took part in a festival and performed the piece they had been working on. It had a Star Wars theme and everyone played a part. So successful was the choreography and their delivery, they won the competition and brought a huge trophy back to school to show off! Amazing!
