  • Thank You For All Your Support This Term - Merry Christmas!

    Fri 18 Dec 2020

What a term it has been – quite unlike any other I can remember. A changing backdrop of challenges and changing regulations whilst trying to reinvigorate learning for children. We have tried to overcome things to stay as normal as possible – just with a few adaptations, from Class 1’s induction back in September to the productions this week. I would like to thank you all for your support, cooperation and consideration this term.

We were all particularly moved by the wonderful video which FUS parents have put together and so many of you contributed to particular thanks to Mel Rappini for making the video). This expression of thanks for the term was amazing – we watched the video together in the hall after school yesterday and there was much laughter and a lot of tears! It really was quite overwhelming and on behalf of all the staff, thank you for this gesture of support.

We all wish you and your family a wonderful, safe Christmas and look forward to seeing you back in 2021!

  • A few words from the headteacher ........

    Mon 14 Dec 2020

It is starting to get very Christmassy in school now – all the decorations are up, children are singing songs and there is much excitement everywhere. Dare I say it, it feels very normal – of course what isn’t normal that we can’t invite you in to share this atmosphere. We will do our best to share this via the videos and links next week and of course the children will all have strong experiences to tell you about.

Our focal point is the huge real Christmas tree in the hall covered in the children’s decorations. My thanks to Vicky & Paul Gardner who provided the tree. Vicky is of course our chair of governors but this is definitely not part of the job description, just a kind act from parents – thanks from all of us!

  • End of day rainbow

    Fri 04 Dec 2020

What an awful day’s weather we had yesterday – not often we have all three breaks as wet-playtimes, not that the children mind they adjust to drawing, colouring and indoor activities well. I was amazed after school to see a full rainbow in the sky over the school, I’ve never seen one above the school like this before. They say a rainbow follows a storm. That was certainly true yesterday – but I hope it’s also a metaphor for how our future has perhaps started to seem more positive this week, with talk of vaccines!
