  • A trip to Longdown to see the animals

    Fri 28 Apr 2023

On Wednesday, Class 1 enjoyed a trip to Longdown Activity Farm (pictures). They were taken around by the farmer who showed the children the different animals. They saw the new lambs, calves, baby guinea pigs as well as chicks. They got to bottle feed some of the animals, if they wanted to, and hold a chick too.

  • Sunshine and Daisy-Chains

    Fri 21 Apr 2023

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter! It really has felt like a change in seasons, we broke up on a torrentially wet, chilly day and have returned to warm sunshine this week. It has been lovely for the children to start using the field at playtimes again too – the winter has been so relentlessly wet I can’t remember the last time children used it. In fact, I can’t remember a worse winter in that respect, normally we use the field periodically throughout the winter. That’s why it was so lovely to see a return of daisy-chain manufacture (pictured above), the freedom to run around in space, being able to sit on the soft grass and just to have even more space. It won’t last of course but the wonderful thing about this term is that the weather should get steadily better and better!
