  • Harvest service update

    Fri 29 Sep 2023

We are hoping to hold our Harvest service next Friday (8th October) at 9am at Blessed Mary Church. I say ‘hope to’ as the church has a roof leak which is being fixed but there is a chance it may not be safe next week. I will confirm arrangements as soon as I am able next week. If we can use the church, please can you drop off at the church at the normal time – staff will be there to receive your children. Breakfast club will run as normal and we will walk those children up to church. If you would like to, you are welcome to stay and watch. After the service we will walk the children back to school. Buddies will lead Class 1s by the hand and everyone walks slowly in a long line, stopping whenever any cars pass. Once back at school, we then continue the school day as normal!

  • Class 3 Butser Ancient Farm trip

    Fri 22 Sep 2023

Class 3 children have enjoyed a busy week, starting swimming sessions on Tuesday and going on a school trip to Butser Ancient Farm yesterday. The visit was planned early in the term as the children got to experience what life might have been like for stone-age ‘Britons’. This is such an abstract part of history so the strong experiences they had, such as making stone age walls, crafting jewellery and sitting in a stone-age hut, will help their historical learning this term. They were really lucky with the weather too, thank goodness they hadn’t booked Wednesday!

  • Welcome to our new Class 1 families

    Fri 15 Sep 2023

Welcome to Our New Class 1 families who started this week. Our Class 4 buddies have worked hard to help welcome the children and make them feel confident. This is also the perfect moment to explain what this Newsletter is for – a good reminder for everyone else too.

A Newsletter is produced every Friday so if you realise you haven’t received a copy you know you may have missed some important information/news – please ask the office for a copy if required. It is designed to be easy to scan through so if you are short of time you can look at the bits that apply. The highlighted blue/ red boxes explain urgent or information for events for the following week. On the left is an overview of diary dates, confirmation of INSET days and the bottom left a list of communications sent this week so you can work out if you’ve missed something. Quite simply if you scan the newsletter, you can’t miss anything and can never have to say ‘I didn’t know that was on’!

  • First week back at school

    Fri 08 Sep 2023

The children have all coped really well with their first week back. It always feels like a long week getting back into the routine of earlier mornings and getting back into work. Of course, the high temperature this week has made this feel harder – they probably haven’t slept as well as normal and the heat just saps everyone’s energy. So well done to everyone for their first week!
