Lunchtime is an important, social time in school. All of our children have lunch together in the hall. Classes 1 and 2 start their lunch at 12pm and have a head-start (because they are younger) before they are joined by Classes 3 and 4 at 12.15pm. Many have school lunches, cooked on-site by our caterers; Hampshire County Council Education Catering, whilst others have sandwiches. They are all mixed up together so they can enjoy social chat and interactions before going outside to play.
Table Manners and Role Models
We expect our children to use good table manners when eating. Our oldest children are great role models to our youngest ones - nothing helps a child learn better than another child! Our Year 6 children in particular will sit with their Year R buddies and role model using a knife and fork and eating politely. Of course our lunchtime staff are also there to help.
Cooked Lunch Choices
The menus for cooked lunches from Hampshire County Council Education Catering change seasonally through the year. Current menus can be found below with a limited number of printed copies available in the school office.
In addition to this menu, Hampshire County Council Education Catering also offer alternating jacket potatoes and hot pasta - menu above.
