It was lovely to see so many of you able to join us in church this morning for our Harvest Festival. The children sang songs, shared food gifts and shared prayers. For our new Year R children it was an opportunity to just watch the older ones and see what they do in the church. At our Christmas service, they will be more fully involved. Years 5 and 6 children shared some teachings around seeing deeper messages at Harvest beyond the obvious thanks for the food we have. Based on ideas we explored in worship this week, they expressed some words for how we could all try to live by; such as to be more peaceful, feel joy and valued, to try to get rid of the things the world is too full of at the moment; such as hate, fear and loneliness.
