What a hot couple of days it has been! We have spoken to the children lots about keeping healthy and safe in the heat; drinking lots, sticking to shade, wearing hats etc. Yesterday many children found it hard to do this, they were too happy playing in the warm conditions and as a result we had many grumpy, ‘hot’ children later in the day. Today was much better, children learned from yesterday and were much calmer and proactive in staying cool. This is all part of learning to self-regulate and happens every year when we first get really hot days! Children are of course welcome to wear hats and sun-cream throughout the summer, though sun-cream should be applied before coming to school as we are not permitted to apply it for children.
