A lovely moment of excitement this week was that I discovered our camera bird box had a family of blue tits! In assembly, children watched the live feed as the adults were feeding their 9 babies. We didn’t have any nesting birds last year as bumble bees used the box instead so I didn’t think anything would use it again – but I was wrong! Lots of the children also enjoyed watching the adults enter and leave the box at playtimes. The babies will have fledged by the time we return after half term but we’ll keep checking the box in case of a second clutch.
