We had a lovely day on Monday, returning from the Jubilee celebrations over the weekend to our Jubilee day in school. Children all spent time learning a little more about monarchy, the Queen and the Jubilee itself. In the afternoon we had a ‘street party’ outside. This very traditional British way of celebrating was very new to the children so we watched footage of the previous Jubilees so children could see the similarity in ways of celebrating and how they have experienced a piece of history they might look back on in the future.
A the end of the day, children were all presented with a special Jubilee mug which was kindly organised and donated by The Upham Community – what an amazing gift and my thanks goes to all those who helped organise this!
