Year 6 Elections

If I use the word ‘election’ in my opening sentence I suspect many of you will switch off – bear with me! The children have very strong views about the election – I was talking in assembly this week about how our parliamentary systems works and asked them what they would want to change about life. They gave such developed answers I thought they should run with this. I have therefore challenged some year six children to stand in our own election. They are producing their own manifesto promises based on the areas we discussed which we will share with everyone next week. They will stand for their own designed parties; many already have teams of backers! This will lead to an election next week. I’ll let you know how it develops!
