You might have noticed over the last few weeks Class 3 children arriving with shields and weapons! One of the homework tasks for this term which they could select from was to make an Ancient Roman style shield. We deliberately offer a range of homework tasks to choose from so children can have some sense of control and choice and many of them embraced this DT project. Today the children gathered together and used their shields together – making some of the defensive formations legions of soldiers would have used – a really practical way to understand how they dominated the Celts.
