In collective worship this week we have talked about how Pancake day has given way to the start of Lent, a most serious time in the Christian character. Traditionally, many people give things up for Lent but the central goal is to try to be a better person; to make conscious decision to act differently. School Council have helped me plan how we are going to try to encourage the children to do this. Each week, we will have a theme about a certain act or behaviour to try to do more often. If children think they have done this they can then choose a sticker, either to wear or collect. The emphasis will be on them deciding if they think they deserve this – being honest with yourself being a key part of our vision ‘to love self’. Look out for the first theme next week!
