This week has been dominated by Year 6 SATs test – but only in the sense that they have used the hall every morning. Since these are formal exams they have to be conducted like a GCSE or A-Level, with everyone separated. The children were well prepared by this so weren’t phased. They had all worked hard so were ready. None of the tests offered any surprises and everyone did their best and should feel proud of the fact they did. This experience is useful as they move forward. So many adults have horrible memories of exams, just the word brings some people out in a cold sweat! Our year 6 children overcame any nerves to concentrate and show what they could do and now know they can cope with any exams or similar experiences in their futures! …The bacon rolls at morning playtime might have helped too!
